An amazing spread of BBQ fare was enjoyed by our SWAN Community members as they mingled and shared a delightful summer evening together at the Rockford Plantation on August 1st. That alone would have been a great way to celebrate SWAN’s accomplishments but the best was yet to come. Just after dinner, our children could be seen marching down the grassy lane and into the event barn. They came to perform. Their performance was a culmination of all they had learned at SWAN’s first “Summer Camp”. It included singing, strumming, and drumming. The smiles on both our guests’ and children’s faces displayed the powerful impact of their performance.
We had more to celebrate by the end of the evening too. Reaching the matching gift goal for our “Funds for Fall” campaign, we concluded the night having raised over $15,000 for music lesson this fall. We are grateful for our supporters who are investing in this noble mission and our student’s lives.
