Our students celebrated Christmas by sharing the joy of their holiday songs with crowds of shoppers at Lancaster’s Central Market. After singing “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” all our students “shouted out with glee,” and for good reason! The Lancaster County Court personnel presented SWAN with $1,100 to be invested in their music lessons.

Court employees donated individually through their D.R.I.V.E. Program, whose vision is to value their shared humanity through diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Lancaster County Court System. D.R.I.V.E. is dedicated to helping their judicial system continue to move forward to embrace all forms of diversity and to impact all lives within Lancaster County positively. Their core values are:

  • Diversity – recognize that each individual is unique.
  • Respect – accept people for who they are.
  • Inclusivity – promote an environment of belonging and empowerment.
  • Values – treat all people with dignity and respect.
  • Equity – provide necessary resources and opportunities for all to reach equal outcomes.

Our students were the recipients of their vision and mission and are grateful. The impact of their gift will last well beyond the holiday season.
