Our Rising Stars students brought smiles to many faces when they performed at The Lancaster Central Market on December 13 and 14.
Their December 13 performance was made all the merrier as they joined with the Lancaster Rotary Club members. As bells rang and brisk temperatures made their cheeks rosy, our students sang Christmas favorites outside. Their voices would have been lovely enough, but they decked their songs with red felt noses and reindeer antlers for “Rudolf, the Red-Nose Reindeer” and had a blast dressing their music teacher, Allan Dutton, as Santa while singing “Must Be Santa.” It was a comical rendition, but the props and acting didn’t stop there. They continued their show with “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” acting out every character they sang about.
They sang inside the Central Market the next day as shoppers streaming through the market listened. After bringing joy to their audiences, they walked to The Trust Performing Arts Center for a Christmas Party that they celebrated with their teachers, siblings, and parents.
We are proud of our students’ accomplishments and courage in performing their beautiful music for others. It is their way of saying thank you and Merry Christmas to their community. May the memory of these events bring cheer to everyone throughout the holiday season!
