This week marked a special milestone for one of SWAN’s students, Logan Wells.

Logan had the opportunity to perform live on Morning Light, a regional Christian television program that reaches viewers throughout central Pennsylvania. Sharing his performance before a live television audience was more than a musical accomplishment; it was another step in a journey marked by growth, confidence, and hope.

Performing on live television is an exciting opportunity for any young musician. For Logan, it was another reminder that his future is filled with possibility.

At SWAN, we often say:

“We believe a child’s circumstances do not have to determine their future. Music opens the door, but relationships change lives.”

Logan’s journey beautifully reflects that truth.

Through years of faithful practice, caring mentors, and opportunities to perform, Logan has grown into an accomplished young pianist. He is also succeeding academically and dreams of one day becoming an astrophysicist. His curiosity, discipline, and love of learning remind us that every child has incredible God-given potential waiting to be nurtured.

His appearance on Morning Light was another step along that journey. Performing “Glacier Majesty” before a television audience required preparation, courage, and confidence, and Logan rose to the occasion with excellence.

No child succeeds alone.

We are deeply grateful for his outstanding piano teacher, Gretchen Dekker, whose excellent instruction and genuine care have helped Logan flourish as a musician. We are equally thankful for his grandmother, Wanda, a true superhero, whose unwavering love, sacrifice, and encouragement have made it possible for Logan to pursue every opportunity and believe in himself.

That is what SWAN is all about.

Through music instruction, mentoring, trauma-informed care, Bible classes, licensed mental health counseling support, and performance opportunities, children are surrounded by caring adults who help them heal, learn, succeed, and dream.

We are also incredibly grateful to Debra Pinkerton, Missy Stricker, and the entire Morning Light team for once again welcoming SWAN and for giving Logan an experience he will never forget. By opening this door for him, they became part of the caring relationships that are helping shape his future.

Thank you to everyone who supports SWAN. Because of your generosity, children like Logan are discovering their gifts, building confidence, and pursuing dreams they may never have imagined possible. Together, we are changing lives, one child, one relationship, and one note at a time.
