Our SWAN students enjoyed sharing their musical talents with holiday shoppers at the annual Gifts That Give Hope Lancaster gift fair. Joyous music filled the room when our students began performing on their violins, violas, drums, and pianos. The MFE community chorus and Ukulele Uprising also performed and enhanced the spirit of giving for fairgoers.
The alternative gift fair, which allows the community to learn about and purchase “gifts” from over 30 community-benefiting organizations, has been a highlight holiday performance for SWAN students. “It makes a lasting impact when our students see a community genuinely invested in them and the good of many others, ” said Administrative Assistant Holly Germeroth. “They walk away filled with joy from sharing their gift of music and recognizing the gift others have given them.”
The holiday fair may be over, but you can continue shopping the alternative gifts online for celebratory life events, like celebrating your music teacher by giving lessons to a student in SWAN’s music program.
