Ceevon and Jaymier Dixon took to the United Way Stage on February 10 to perform for conference attendees and close out the day. Ceevon, who is a pianist and composer, featured three originals. His brother, Jaymier, played drums, and their teacher, George Yellak, electric bass. Within minutes they had everyone smiling and moving to their music. It was hardly a surprise when after the last piece, the crowd cheered and gave them a standing ovation! Kevin Ressler, President of United Way of Lancaster County, took the mic and with great enthusiasm announced that he was commissioning them to compose music for a United Way video series. The audience was as excited about them receiving their first commission as they were. The impact of the evening will live on. It will continue to empower their dreams, spark creativity, and give them the ongoing confidence to perform and share their music with others.
