During summer camp, students took a field trip to Evergreen Estates to perform for the residents. Several students shared that they were nervous, but as they saw the warm, welcoming smiles of those gathered, they realized it was like performing for a room full of kind-hearted grandparents. They went on to give their absolute best performance.
Camp teachers and staff were impressed and praised the students for sharing the joy of music. The residents congratulated the children and gave them handmade thank you cards with notes of encouragement which the children enjoyed taking home as a reminder of this exceptional performance. “I liked being able to perform and put smiles on those who don’t get out or have visits from many people.” one student said.
