May 7, 2014

We are excited to announce that Music For Everyone has chosen SWAN to have one of the twelve pianos decorated for the “Keys for the City 2014” exhibit.

Keys for the City 2014 marks the fifth consecutive summer that Music For Everyone has brought this fun, funky, interactive exhibit to the streets of Lancaster. Twelve pianos, all designed and painted by local artists, will be accessible to the public 24/7 from May 16 through the end of September.

The objective of Keys for the City is to provide access to musical opportunity, foster creativity and build a sense of community among the public and, in the process, raise awareness for local music and visual arts education initiatives.

Millersville University’s Art club has been working to create our SWAN themed piano that will be placed outside the Ware Center. The SWAN piano will make its debut on May 16th with several of our students coming out to perform during the first “Music Friday” of the season.

We invite you to join us for a fun evening filled with music and creativity. Visit our FB page to watch our little brown piano transform into lovely SWAN artwork through the creative hands of MU artists and hear about upcoming performances at the piano!
