We’d like to introduce one of our team members, music teacher Margaret Jackson.
“I play the violin, viola, piano, and sing. Violin was my first instrument and is my favorite to play. I started taking violin lessons at age 5 and having teachers who believed in me was really impactful. I tend to be very self-critical and get discouraged when I make mistakes. Now as a music teacher, I love watching my students grow and take pride and joy in what they do. I have been teaching for about 4 years and my favorite part of teaching is getting to watch my students perform something they worked really hard for.”
A few of Margaret’s favorite things:
- hiking
- book: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I can escape to another world whenever I pick up those books)
- sports team: UNC Tar Heels
What one word would you use to describe yourself?
“Determined. I don’t give up on things I want.”
