November 20, 2013

Each year for two weekends in November, Austin’s artists and artisans open up their studios and invite the public to discover and explore the great wealth of talent and creativity blossoming from our city’s eastside. This is known as the East Austin Studio Tour, or E.A.S.T.

On November 16, 2013, Blackshear Elementary School—home to SWAN’s central Texas pilot program— hosted “Little e.a.s.t.” Several area schools contributed works of art which was displayed around Blackshear, both indoors and out.

As part of the festivities, SWAN students performed for an audience of more than 100 people who were attending Little e.a.s.t. This was SWAN’s first performance on a real stage and the children sang and played like pros.

We are very proud of these young people and the effort they are making to Scale their Walls!
