When Mr. and Mrs. Cannette gifted a guitar to SWAN they joined our mission to enrich the lives of children who are living in a world of poverty, crime and confusion. SWAN student, Iynaja, wanted to play the guitar but the only one we had to lend her in September was inferior and difficult to manage. Replacing that guitar with a new one inspired Iynaja to practice and continue taking guitar lessons instead of giving up.
This gifted guitar will now begin a journey of giving far beyond its monetary value. On March 26th Iynaja took her guitar and joined other SWAN students in performing for residents at Garden Spot Retirement Village. The smiles on the faces of the residents and the joy that Iynaja experienced in giving back had come full circle. And this is just the beginning of the journey!
