Thank you for placing ukuleles in our student’s hands! Here’s what our teacher, George Yellak, had to say about them: “The Ibanez ukes are fantastic. The kids at Carter were all pretty engaged with them. They tune up well and sound nice. I have 5 at each school. Matt, a school district music teacher, is graciously letting the kids practice supervised during their free time in the music room. I will work on getting a similar arrangement in the other schools.”
Because of your generosity, SWAN was able to purchase the 15 ukuleles that the children will be using for performances plus several “loaner” ukes for children to take home as a reward for excellent classroom behavior and work. We also purchased three student-sized electric guitars and small amps. We can’t wait for you to hear them perform. We’ll keep you posted!
