We want to thank MU STEEL for inviting our students to join them on stage at MEDA’s World Market Night in downtown Lancaster. This unique and exciting ensemble specializing in traditional pan music from Trinidad and Tobago was founded in 2017 by director James Armstrong as part of Millersville University’s world music curriculum. The opportunity for our students to jam with them on stage for the first “Music Friday” of the season was tremendously positive!

Community folks filled Binns Park making our students nervous but with encouraging cheers from the crowd combined with the melodious sounds of the steel drums, they lost themselves in the celebration of the night. The experience gained from performing alongside other musicians boosted their confidence and has motivated them to continue learning and working as a team. We are grateful to MU STEEL for providing our students with this awesome opportunity.
